The Right Choice

The choice

We went to Washington DC on our anniversary, December 19, taking the commuter train planning to visit some museums. Our first stop was the Hirschorn. There’s a great installation in a room there by Laurie Anderson. We spent a good deal of time reading all she’d written on the walls and floor. I was attracted by Lynn acts of seeing and reading and took three pics. The one at the top of the post was my choice for the best. Her body is positioned in the gallery with SUNSHINE in front of her, her feet and hands show a relaxed posture. The third below is nice too because it has a hint of her face.

There were so many intriguing phrase and statements . A great installation and work by Laurie Anderson. We had attended one of her live performances at Brooklyn Academy of Music, perhaps in 2010. Oliver was with us and as we were leaving he recognized Lou Reed in the lobby. Perhaps Reed was coming to meet with Anderson after the performance. Lou Reed liked Oliver’s pedals and Oliver has been asked to participate in some events that celebrate Lou Reed held after Lou Reed’s death.

The other day Oliver told us that Laurie Anderson was going to visit Death by Audio, his pedal business, in early January. It turns out that one of Philip Glass’s sons works with Oliver and Anderson and Glass are scheduled to make a visit! I guess there’s only one thing left to say.
