Fredericksburg Songwriters' Showcase Steve Quelet

Steve Quelet grew up in rural Maryland, surrounded by the fields of local farmers and the sounds of early Rock, Folk, and Rythm & Blues music. The oldest of five boys, all of whom play instruments and write songs, he spent a lifetime gathering influences that shade the music and songs he writes today.

In his early years Steve performed with many east coast bands, including bands formed with his brothers and fellow songwriters. It was here that he began to blend the elements of Folk, Blues, and Americana into memorable songs and stories.

For the past ten years, Steve has been an active member in the folk communities of Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, often opening shows for touring national acts, including Patty Griffin, Gordon Bok, Brooks Williams and many others. His songs have finalled or won awards in several national contests and festivals, including Plowshares (PA),MASC (DC),IAMA (UT),LAKE Co.FF (IL) and many more. You can also hear Steve's songs being played on many folk radio stations throughout the country and overseas. Steve now makes his home in the mountains of north central Pennsylvania. email steve@stevequelet.com
