Fredericksburg Songwriters' Showcase Clay Mottley Band

Clay Mottley is quickly becoming one of the most talked about singer/songwriters in Virginia. His introspective lyrics and sensible arrangements, draw comparisons from James Taylor to Dave Matthews. But at the core of Clay's craftsmanship, is his faith in humans and the drive of their emotional adventures. Clay is continually gathering a solid east coast fanbase and selling an impressive amount of his two self-released albums, 1999's Stormy Words (which garnered a critic's choice in Billboard Magazine) and this year's Can't be wrong, an accomplished sophomore effort. The combined impact of these two releases has garnered a lot of attention from several major labels and the world seems to be the limit for Clay's successes.

This autumn will prove to be an earmark for The Clay Mottley Band's career as they take on the rigors of the road and embark on several regional jaunts. The first goal is to harvest the strong college towns of the Carolinas and Virginia and eventually move on into the heavily critical Northeast markets. Clay will continue to be joined on the road by Keith McConnel on bass & SLAM on percussion. The rhythm section is keen on keeping Clay in the pocket and pushing the energy of the group. Expect continued great things from this band and stay posted @ www.claymottleyband.com
