Bill Baker is a familiar name in the Washington D.C. music scene. Performing both solo and with his band, Bill blends influences from American blues, country folk, r&b, and contemporary acoustic music to create his own personal style. Bill's original songs have won him multiple awards, including being a finalist in the 1993 Kerville Folk Festival's "new folk" competition. Mike Joyce of the Washington Post hailed Bill as "an extremely talented songwriter" who independently produce CD Wolves of Winter was "tuneful, tasteful and evocative".
