Fredericksburg Songwriters' Showcase | Laura Siersema |
Laura Siersema is a performing singer/songwriter and published poet. She's made her living as a church and ensemble soloist, choral accompanist, music theater director and teacher. She grew up in Farmville, VA listening to performances of the Hon-o-lees, her parents' folk music group. As a small child, she played ukelele, guitar, and piano. Finding her own voice in poetry and music, she studied classical voice and graduated from Berklee College of Music. Her first album "when I left loss" is now playing on public and college radio stations around the world. She has opened for John Gorka, Connie Kaldor and David Roth and will open for Pete & Maura Kennedy and Cheryl Wheeler later this season.
