Frank Dieter

Frank Dieter, singer/songwriter/performer, began composing songs and instrumetals when he took up the guitar at the age of sixteen. Since then he has performed solo, in duets, and has formed two trios during his musical career. He is a three time award winner in Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, a two time award winner: in the Song of the Year Contest (2008), and has placed in the Great American Song Contest.. His performances include showcase performances in Florida, Roanoke, VA, Northern Virginia, Fredericsksburg, Bedford Library, First Fridays at the Orchard, and NERFA. One of Frank's songs, Saturday Night”, penned in the early 70’s, was signed to a publisher contract by Bill Danoff, founder of the Starland Vocal Band and who once performed with John Denver.

"I’m An American”, a protest song, is posted on Neil Young’s website Living with War Today – Songs Of Our Times.

Frank maintains memberships in the Southwest Virginia Songwriters Association, the Songwriters Association of Washington, and The Folk Alliance. Radio Play & Television Appearances include “The Hook” w/Berkeley Grimball – WCOM-FM (Carrboro, NC), “The Local Zone” – WUVT-FM (Blacksburg, VA), WYAT-TV (Martinsville, VA): Live simulcast one hour broadcast with WMVA-AM. “Open Mic” – WBRA-TV (Roanoke, VA). Discography: Rough Cuts from the Blue Room - 2004, Red Tears on a Velvet Sky -2006, More Rough Cuts from the Blue Room - 2008.
